After the success of the beautiful 1937 Coupe Express Pickup, Studebaker tried to pick up where they left off when production resumed after WWII. The great lines of the pre-war trucks are lost in this face.
When you think of an old school American, Taxi Cab, the mind turns to an icon, the Checker Marathon. Built from 1958 through 1982 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This one is vacant.
The Federal Motor Truck Company, based in Detroit, built trucks of various sizes from 1910 to 1959. This veteran is from the 1930s and sits near Kalispell, Montana, if you were wanting to plan a visit. The truck is in good company with a late, 1920s looking International in the background.
Once again, we travel to beautiful Kalispell, Montana for a look at another road side truck attraction. Can’t even begin to name this early COE (cab over engine). In other shots, I think it is a Nash Quad. This truck required muscles to drive.
Ford Motors went through so many looks in the 1930s. The grill on the 1938 trucks looks like it belongs on a Delahaye or other exotic European car from the Deco era.
